After a bit of time off for Winter Break, the club is back in Richardson. Being gone for a month, we weren't really sure what we'd come back to. Our discoveries were pretty mild, for Richardson anyways.
Before I jump into the first week back, I actually have some pretty exciting news. Becca and I managed to get permission to investigate both the Student Union Building and the Library. We'll be able to go in during the day, and we even got permission to investigate after hours, and possibly overnight. So, we've got new territories to get familiar with, and new ghosts to meet.
Heading back to Richardson for now, we all scattered around the basement to see what was new. Before we left, Becca left another note in the dust (
this was the result of our first dust-test) for whatever entity felt like replying.

"Wanna talk? I'm Becca what's your name?" |

Like most things we find, we're not entirely sure what it means. Red could mean a multitude of things- the color, a name, my initials... Whatever it could be, you can bet we'll be looking into that as well.
Once again, we had our little chair phenomenon: the gathering of chairs in the basement decided to rearrange themselves again in a nice little line in front of the gate.

At least they're not facing a door this time... |
I have no clue what's going on with the chairs. Like one reader mentioned, there is a high chance of a poltergeist. And I mean, with everything that happens, it's entirely possible. Many of the things that move are in connection to other ghosts we know about, but since new things are starting to happen, who knows? We could have a poltergeist in the basement.
And, finally, sticking to the tradition of weird things showing up in the boiler room, we give you the last picture:

You know you're a paranormal investigator... |
Let me say again that usually we have no idea why things happen, and we've just started to accept that things move on their own, and that the voices we hear don't always belong to someone in the room. And, sometimes, empty pallets decide to pile themselves in front of the stairs leading to the Janitor's room. We figured we'd leave them- something obviously wants them in our way (whether it's Mr. Janitor, or the living janitors...) so Matt took the initiative and climbed over. Nothing was off in the janitor's room, so why was it blocked off? Has Mr. Janitor finally had it with us traipsing around his apartment? Or has the janitorial staff decided we don't need to be climbing up there? We'll probably never know.
So, as always, we're starting the year off right. Plenty of unexplainable things to look into, new places to investigate, and plenty more stories to come our way. Stay tuned, because I have a good feeling that this semester is going to be one we'll never forget.
