Equipment Makes the Investigating Grow Fonder

Thanks to our friends over in Grizzly Video Productions, the Club rented out a camera, boom, and shotgun microphone to use for the investigation today, as well as the Library investigation Friday night.

We got the camera yesterday, and it only got to charge for about half an hour before I ran out the door with it. I spent three hours locking myself in dark rooms and running around the library playing with it and testing out the built in light (it works, by the way). I was more excited than a kid in a candy store. Or, I guess more fittingly I was more excited than a ghost hunter in a haunted building.

Today we're doing a usual investigation in Richardson. We'll be aided by the camera and mic, and I'm so excited to see what we pick up that I almost can't wait until 2.

We've got the equipment rented out until Monday, and I will be renting out a camera for every Tuesday meeting and big event so we can document it.

ALSO, I almost forgot to mention that for anyone here in Alamosa, more specifically at Adams State, our videos will soon be featured on the school's TV channel. I'm also very super excited about that. I've also had a lot of coffee today, so my energy is a little over the top.

So far, that's all the news I have for you, so stay tuned and be ready for a really awesome vlog!

Branching Out

So, seeing as it took us a year to get full access to Richardson and clearance for an overnight, I'm pretty stoked that it only took a little over a week to get complete and total clearance for the library.

I was expecting a big hassle, tons of paperwork, and several hoops to jump through, so imagine my surprise when the Library Manager not only granted us investigation clearance, but he added "If you want to do a lock in, come by next Friday when we close and you guys can stay as long as you want".

On top of that, we're so close to becoming official I can almost taste the senate meeting, and we have high hopes of being able to rent actual cameras. Our sponsor, Pete, brought up the idea of producing a short investigation bit every week to put on our University TV channel. How awesome would that be?

That's pretty much all the exciting news we've got for you, so stay tuned and watch for an awesome video soon to come!

Here We Go Again

After a bit of time off for Winter Break, the club is back in Richardson. Being gone for a month, we weren't really sure what we'd come back to. Our discoveries were pretty mild, for Richardson anyways.

Before I jump into the first week back, I actually have some pretty exciting news. Becca and I managed to get permission to investigate both the Student Union Building and the Library. We'll be able to go in during the day, and we even got permission to investigate after hours, and possibly overnight. So, we've got new territories to get familiar with, and new ghosts to meet.

Heading back to Richardson for now, we all scattered around the basement to see what was new. Before we left, Becca left another note in the dust (this was the result of our first dust-test) for whatever entity felt like replying.

"Wanna talk? I'm Becca what's your name?"
Like most things we find, we're not entirely sure what it means. Red could mean a multitude of things- the color, a name, my initials... Whatever it could be, you can bet we'll be looking into that as well.

Once again, we had our little chair phenomenon: the gathering of chairs in the basement decided to rearrange themselves again in a nice little line in front of the gate.

At least they're not facing a door this time...

I have no clue what's going on with the chairs. Like one reader mentioned, there is a high chance of a poltergeist. And I mean, with everything that happens, it's entirely possible. Many of the things that move are in connection to other ghosts we know about, but since new things are starting to happen, who knows? We could have a poltergeist in the basement.

And, finally, sticking to the tradition of weird things showing up in the boiler room, we give you the last picture:

You know you're a paranormal investigator...
Let me say again that usually we have no idea why things happen, and we've just started to accept that things move on their own, and that the voices we hear don't always belong to someone in the room. And, sometimes, empty pallets decide to pile themselves in front of the stairs leading to the Janitor's room. We figured we'd leave them- something obviously wants them in our way (whether it's Mr. Janitor, or the living janitors...) so Matt took the initiative and climbed over. Nothing was off in the janitor's room, so why was it blocked off? Has Mr. Janitor finally had it with us traipsing around his apartment? Or has the janitorial staff decided we don't need to be climbing up there? We'll probably never know.

So, as always, we're starting the year off right. Plenty of unexplainable things to look into, new places to investigate, and plenty more stories to come our way. Stay tuned, because I have a good feeling that this semester is going to be one we'll never forget.

Basement chairs part 2

While I was going through my iPod, I found another photo that I took before winter break.

The chairs that were scattered around in the boiler room are all lined up facing the boiler room door. I know for a fact the club didn't position them like that. I can't confirm that no one else touched them, but I do find it odd that another group of chairs were fixed to face a door.

Like we showed in the last vlog we did of the basement, both the white door (where the first group of chairs were facing) and this door lead to the wall of pipes and the boiler room.

On a side note, the semester starts January 14th, and the club will meet back up shortly thereafter. Look for more frequent updates and a lot more videos this semester!
