Rumor has it that a witch in Alamosa went off the Witch's calendar, which keeps track of the days differently than the Gregorian calendar (for those of you that don't know, that's the common every-day calendar). However, since I'm not a witch, nor am I in contact with any, I don't know the specifications of said witches calendar, so I can't go into detail there. But it was rumored that the legitimate date of her death was October 36th.
So, our group got (partially) together and headed out for the Alamosa cemetery. It was just Jake, Lauren, and I for the investigation, and we left the college at about 7:30. We had originally planned to leave when it was still light out so we could find the statue easier, but we got sidetracked, and by the time we got there it was already pretty much dark.
The sign at the cemetery said that it was open from 8AM to dusk, and since there was still a tiny bit of light in the sky, we considered that dusk and went on in. Our instructions to find the witch statue were "Go down the road to the back and take a left". As it turns out, we suck at following directions. In my own personal defense, the cemetery was a lot bigger than I thought, and there were a lot of places to take a left, and we sort of forgot the "go all the way back" part.

Seriously. Not exaggerating. |
So after the first hour, when we're seriously down in the far right corner of the cemetery, Jake goes, "didn't the guy say the statue was in the back left?"
So thanks to Jake, we finally trekked all the way back (avoiding freshly dug and open graves) and after more than an hour, we found the statue. Contrary to my belief, the statue wasn't of a witch, but in a way it was really creepy. The fingers on the outstretched hand had been broken off, and pennies were left as offerings. We had some (fake) flowers with us, and we left one as our offering.
